Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing

Are you looking for a gentle and effective method to safely enhance your natural shape?

Cryolipolysis – a treatment which has risen in popularity in recent years – involves the targeting of specific body parts and freezing of the fat cells in those particular areas.

Human fat cells are weak, and this means they’re unable to survive in sub-zero temperatures; by partaking in fat freezing, your fat cells die off and leave your body via the lymphatic system. This reduces fat in the targeted area, producing a much more toned appearance, often in a matter of weeks.

Which conditions and areas can be treated with cryolipolysis?

Abdomen
Thighs (or saddlebags)
Arms
Inner armpit
Hips (love handles)
Knees
Double Chin
Back braline

You should experience minimal discomfort throughout the process, but anyone with sensitive skin may experience temporary bruising or redness after receiving the treatment.

Cryolipolysis is a great way to target unwanted fat in areas that can be difficult to tone simply by a change in diet or lifestyle, for example the double chin, back and stomach.

  • No rebound
  • Clinically proven
  • Non-invasive and no anaesthesia required
  • Non-surgical and safe

What is Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing?

Cryolipolysis is a non-surgical treatment which works to gently and effectively remove excess fat from the areas of the body you wish to target – perhaps those which haven’t responded to a change in diet or an increase in physical exercise.

Using advanced medical grade cryolipolysis technology, the fat cells in your targeted area will be drastically cooled using a technological device, breaking them down for easy removal. Fat cells are proven vulnerable to cold temperatures, while the surrounding tissue isn’t, ensuring said tissue remains unharmed in the process.

Opting for cryolipolysis, you can expect to achieve noticeable results with a natural appearance, as well as your general body contour becoming significantly smoother. The machine used is compatible with a range of applicators, making treatment suitable for bodily curves on both men and women.

Once treatment is complete, your therapists or doctor will remove the device and massage the layer of fat on the targeted area back into shape.

The science behind non-surgical fat freezing

Using advanced cooling technology, this particular procedure crystallises the body’s fat cells in the targeted area; these fat cells then self-destruct under temperatures reaching as low as -9 degrees celsius. In turn, this process triggers the cells’ safe and natural death – this is known as termed apoptosis.
As the fat cells alone are vulnerable to such cold temperatures, the surrounding tissue remains healthy and unaffected.
Once the fat cells are frozen (or crystallised), they are then broken down and will naturally leave the body through the lymphatic system in the weeks following the treatment. Regular exercise can help quicken the process, helping you to achieve more noticeable results in a shorter period of time.

Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing FAQs

1. How long does a cryolipolysis session last?
Each cryolipolysis session at Dr D. Aesthetics Medical Clinic, Singapore, lasts in the region of 60 minutes per area. The session may take longer if you’re receiving treatment to multiple areas, although in some instances, two areas can be treated simultaneously.
2. Can I carry on with my normal activities after a cryolipolysis session?
After your treatment, you can expect minimal downtime. While some redness and swelling may occur, you can continue with your normal activities immediately after the session.
3. When can I expect to see results from the cryolipolysis?
There are no immediate results, as the fat cells are gradually eliminated by the immune system in the weeks after your treatment. You can expect to see results in six to ten weeks; in the months that follow, you will continue to lose fat from your treated area(s).
4. How many sessions of cryolipolysis are needed?
While results vary from patient to patient, it is generally recommended to attend one or two sessions in order to achieve the results you desire.
5. Are the results of cryolipolysis permanent?
Yes, the results are permanent as the fat is permanently removed from your body. However, it is important that you take good care of your new figure by maintaining a balanced diet and participating in regular exercise.
6. Can the cryolipolysis tech tighten loose skin, as well?
No, this machine is unable to tighten loose skin – you may need to tighten any loose skin with another procedure such as Venus Legacy or Fotona Tightsulpting which is also available in our centre.
7. What aftercare is required?
Although fat cells are expelled from the body in the weeks after cryolipolysis, you’re advised to live a healthy lifestyle after treatment in order to maintain the results. It’s also important to drink two to three litres of water each day, as this will help flush any dead fat cells from your body.
