ACNE SCARS – Why live with scars when you can IMPROVE it! The Medical Power of Light!

1) VIVA™

Viva™ is an advanced, non-surgical solution for skin resurfacing that works to improve the overall texture of your skin. It combines NanoFractional Radio Frequency (RF) and SmartScan™ technology to help you get smoother, healthier lifted skin by reducing signs of skin damage, including acne scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, wrinkle/fine lines, rosacea, and any other skin conditions that affect the texture of your skin.

HOW IT WORKS

SKIN RESURFACING

Viva™ skin resurfacing treatments work with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via NanoFractional Radio Frequency) through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny micro-dermal wounds, which the body then works to heal naturally. This process repairs signs of skin damage seen on the surface of the skin. Since the wounds are so small, the treatment is much more comfortable than traditional CO2 lasers and leads to significantly faster recovery and much less downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many sessions do I need to do? How frequent in between sessions?
DrD: Each session lasts approximately 1hour and you will usually see results after each session, but usually I would recommend doing 4-6 sessions for more prominent results, and interval in between has to be 4 weeks apart.

2. Any downtime after this procedure?
DrD: There is slight redness after the procedure. I would recommend you to use recovery cream, sunblock SPF 50 and to apply more moisturiser. You can resume your daily activities the following day.

3. Any side effects?
DrD: So long that it is being done correctly and safely, you will have no side effects like blisters. Rarely, you may get temporary dark patches (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation).

4. Is this procedure painful?
DrD: Overall procedure is bearable after the application of numbing cream.

2) FOTONA LASER RESURFACING

For treating problematic acne scars, Fotona’s Er:YAG laser wavelength is ideal for gentle ablative scar revision. The Er:YAG laser safely and effectively provides the minimal penetration depth required for light resurfacing of acne-scarred skin, helping to improve skin texture and tone. Unlike chemical peels and dermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing allows the penetration depth to be precisely controlled. The laser gently vaporizes micron-thin layers of the acne-scarred surface to reveal healthy, undamaged skin below. Laser resurfacing is a fast, safe and simple procedure.
