SKIN REGENERATION WITH WATER DROP LIFT ULTRASOUND

LDM ultrasound

Local Dynamic Micro-Massage is a dual-frequency ultrasound technology that is able to modulate dynamic processes of production and destruction within connective tissue. It regenerates the skin and improves the immune system by sending energy waves through old skin cells to rejuvenate the skin structures. It doesn’t stimulate the skin too much and allows for natural healing on the cellular level, so you can expect almost no downtime or side effects.

This technology is widely used in many dermatological, medical aesthetics and plastic surgery clinics and practices all over the world and has been clinically proven to be stable in treating a variety of skin conditions.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

This treatment method is based on three active principles:

1. Chemical Principle

The enzymatic degradation processes that characterise skin ageing are ceased while building processes are stimulated in the skin. This leads to a regeneration of collagen and subsequently, the rejuvenation of skin and reduction in wrinkles. The pore size becomes smaller overall, making for finer-textured skin.

2. Mechanical Principle

Water is distributed more optimally in the tissue, restoring the plumpness and radiance typical of healthy and youthful skin.

3. Thermal Principle

Using heat, this technology can be used to break down local fatty deposits, such as that below the chin, as well as tighten skin tissue. This tightening effect makes it an effective treatment option for smoothing cellulite and tightening sagging skin. Several treatments are necessary to achieve the desired effect.

MAIN BENEFITS

This technology reduces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) which contribute to collagen breakdown and inhibits collagen formation, while also activating heat shock proteins (HSPs) which promote collagen synthesis in the skin and increase glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which support and maintain the skin’s structural proteins such as collagen and elastin.

1. Control Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPS)

  • Excessive inflammation suppression
  • Scar prevention
  • Maximize rejuvenation

2. Activate HSPs (heat shock proteins)

  • Increase immunity and reproduction capabilities

3. Increase GAGs (glycosaminoglycans)

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a type of GAG
  • Skin moisture increase
  • Metabolism acceleration

What is the advantage of a 10 mhz frequency?

Conventional ultrasound systems use the frequencies of 1 MHz and 3 MHz which can effectively penetrate up to several centimetres into the body, beneath epidermal and dermal layers where the main ageing processes take place. This technology applies an additional ultra-sound wave of 10 MHz frequency with a penetration depth of nearly 0.3 cm which is almost fully absorbed in upper skin layers (see diagram below).

WATER DROP LIFTING

Water Drop Lifting is a moisture lifting procedure that increases moisture in the skin and raises regeneration capability of the skin barrier, resulting in skin regeneration and moisturising effects. As a hypoallergenic lifting method that offers immediate moisture, elasticity, and glossiness without causing problems even with the daily treatment.

Water Drop Lifting makes a balance of the cells in the skin to relieve skin troubles and amplify the collagen producing enzyme to make more young and healthy skin. It produces collagen continuously and breaks down aging-collagen to help distribute the production of new fibroblasts.

DRUG DELIVERY

The sonophoresis programme helps to incorporate topically applied active substances into the skin for extra support that results in a longer lasting deposit. At the same time, it reduces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), activates heat shock proteins (HSPs) and increases glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which modulates collagen and elastin, leading to an increase in skin turgidity and skin rejuvenation.

SKIN REJUVENATION

It reduces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) which break down collagen and inhibits collagen formation, activates heat shock proteins (HSPs) which promotes neocollagenesis and increases glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which supports and maintains the skin’s structural proteins such as collagen and elastin. This rejuvenates the dynamic processes within connective tissue that lead to an increase in skin turgidity and radiance.

STRETCH MARKS

It reduces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) which downregulates collagen formation, stimulates heat shock proteins (HSPs) which promotes neocollagenesis and increases glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which supports and maintains the skin’s structural proteins such as elastin. These modulations of the dynamic processes within connective tissue lead to an increase in skin turgidity, thus reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

POST TREATMENT

This technology helps with anti-inflammation and boosts cellular regeneration which is highly suitable as either a standalone or together with other modalities (such as Lasers or Microneedling sessions) to enhance their effects,  this technology is effective in skin regeneration, reducing the likelihood of relapses for chronic skin diseases and helps in reducing both redness and inflammation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

How does this technology compare to other ultrasound machines?

In contrast to other ultrasound machines, the Water Drop Lift uses a 10 MHz frequency with a depth of just approximately 0.3cm which acts almost exclusively in the upper skin layers such as the epidermis and dermis, while the 3 MHz and 1 MHz frequency of depths of approximately 1cm and 3cm respectively operate in the deeper layers of the skin.

It can also achieve a much higher intensity than conventional aesthetic-medical ultrasound treatments, thanks to its ability to switch between frequencies.

What can this technology treat or be used for?

What does the treatment entail?

After consultation with the physician, a clinic assistant will assist the patient to clean the area to be treated. The patient will then be asked to take his or her “before” photos. Where necessary, the physician would proceed to mark the area to be treated. A layer of ultrasound gel will be applied to the treatment area before treatment begin. The Physician will select the appropriate program and prob for the treatment area.

What is the overall result?

You can expect smoother, firmer and brighter skin with noticeable results even from your first treatment. It also helps inflammatory skin reduce inflammation and as this requires an accumulative effect, several treatments are necessary.

How many sessions are needed, and how long will the results last?

Improvement of the skin appearance can often be seen immediately after the first session. The number of sessions required to produce optimal results, and the longevity of the results will depend on factors such as patient’s lifestyle habits, age, skin condition and the type of treatment that the patient underwent.

Treatments targeting aesthetic indications are recommended twice per week, for 4 to 6 weeks. Once optimal results have been achieved, maintenance sessions are recommended once every two to three months.

Dermatological conditions such as psoriasis and eczema may need up to 6 to 8 treatments and in more complex cases, 10 to 16 sessions, depending on the condition.

Is the treatment painful? Is there any downtime?

Patients rarely feel discomfort and the treatment can be performed without local anesthesia. At most, patients will only feel a warm sensation.

Can this technology be used in combination with other treatment modalities?

Water Lift treatments can be combined with non and minimally-invasive medical aesthetics treatments such as radio frequency treatments, thread lifts, and filler injections, as well as surgical procedures such as liposuction. When applied before an injectable or after laser treatment, it reduces downtime by reducing inflammation, facilitating the healing process and increasing skin immunity, and the amount of hyaluronic acid in the cell to increase skin moisture and hydration. Patients can see improvements after only one to two sessions.
